How to Get a Seven in IB Diploma English
The IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma program consists of six courses. These courses come from six different groups named Language A1 (the student's first language), Second Language, Individuals and Societies, Experimental Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science and Arts. For students in the United States who speak English as their main language, they'll take the IB Diploma English course as the Language A1 course. The highest grade one can receive in an IB Diploma course is a seven. Here's what you have to do to get a seven in the IB Diploma English course.

Get very familiar with the IB Diploma English program. Make sure to pay attention to your IB Diploma English teacher in class in regards to the course requirements, expectations and grading methods. Perform well on the internal assessments that are a part of the IB Diploma English program. For the English course, you will be required to give presentations, complete oral activities and exercises and keep portfolios of your written work. Make sure that you participate in class discussions of the assigned literature, as well. In order to get a seven in IB Diploma English, you will have to be an active class participant and complete all of your work on time and with a high level of quality.

Do all assigned homework that is part of the external assessment of the IB Diploma English program. This homework will often have an essay format. Follow all directions from your teacher, write concisely and have an adequate essay structure. External assessments are very important in the overall scoring of the IB Diploma English program.

Prepare for the examinations in your IB Diploma English course. As part of the IB Diploma program, you will have to write several papers a day over a period of several days. For the English examination, you will typically have to write an essay in one to two hours. Make sure that you prepare yourself fully by studying your course material and reviewing the works of literature that you have read throughout your IB Diploma English class. Be sure to write the essay for this examination using the same writing skills that you learned for the external assessments.
