"Easter Eggs" are hidden surprises located in movies and video games. An Easter Egg might be a mini-game, a video clip or special message to the fans. Many people are unaware that these hidden messages exist. You can impress your friends by learning how to find Easter Eggs in programs or games.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use the controller, remote or mouse to move all over the screen. Menu screens are common locations for concealed Easter Eggs. Move the pointer all over the screen, not just to obvious items for selection. Sometimes secrets open in "blank" areas, too.

  2. Step 2

Poke around the screen every time you level up in a video game or change scenes in a movie. Many times these "fresh points" contain more than meets the eye.

  3. Step 3

Look for selectable items that don't appear to do anything. For example, if you pick an icon and it lights up but nothing else happens, it's likely an Easter Egg. Try using a combination of keys and controls on the game controller or remote. Sometimes a particular combo is required for the hidden message to display. The exact combination might take some time to find, so don't give up easily.

  4. Step 4

Search for items that appear out of place, such as a snow covered bush in the middle of a summer forest, or an alligator in a desert mud hole. Often these clues are very subtle, so you must look carefully.

  5. Step 5

Cheat if you must by looking up known Easter Eggs online. It can be fun to see what items you missed, but keep in mind there might be more hidden items than the website discusses. Keep your eyes open-you never know when you'll spot something slyly hidden.

Tips & Warnings
  • When searching for Easter Eggs on video games, be certain you've saved your game before toggling controls and clicking all over the screen.
