Instructions
-
-
1
Find an image you would like to use as a LiveJournal icon.
-
2
Run an image editing or graphics program. Many LiveJournal icons are made using Photoshop, but freeware like Paint.NET, Serif Photoplus 6.0 and GIMP can also help you make your LiveJournal icon.
-
-
3
Open the image in a new canvas.
-
4
Crop the image down to 100x100 pixels. Keep in mind that the whole image does not have to be scaled down. If you want to use only a portion of the image, crop your preferred part of the image and work with it until it's 100x100 pixels.
-
5
Copy and paste the new 100x100 image into new canvas.
-
6
Add effects, textures, borders, decorations or text to the image. The available effects may vary by image editing or graphics program, but experiment until you're satisfied with the way your LiveJournal icon looks.
-
7
Save the icon as a new image and name your new LiveJournal icon before uploading it to your LiveJournal account.
