Choose a pretty, feminine basket. Wicker is nice, but if the basket is plain, be sure to dress it up with flowers, hearts, lace and bows. The basket should be a celebration of your love for your daughter and an embrace of womanhood.

Think of some of your daughter's favorite indulgences. Maybe a perfume she likes that is too expensive to buy often, a special bubble batch scent, or a good book. Put a few of her special treats into her basket.

It is not necessary to take each item out of the basket as you are talking about them to your daughter. You want to keep your talk, and the giving of the basket, personal. Do not turn it into a lecture. However, you might want to give her the basket before you start talking. That way if she has questions while you are talking, or gets curious about the items, she can take them out and look at them.
