How to Remove Fish From a Pond
There may be many reasons where it's necessary to temporarily remove fish safely from a pond. Some reasons include pond cleaning, protection from weather elements or other dangers. Since fish are fragile creatures, their handling and re-introduction to pond waters requires just as much care as their removal. Keep the fish safe and in good health during temporary displacement.
Instructions

1
Fill a large enough bucket to accommodate the pond fish with water from the pond. Set aside on a safe, flat surface.
-
2
Use a pond skimmer to gently collect one fish at a time. Raise the skimmer from the pond water slowly into the pond water filled bucket. Submerge the skimmer just slightly under the water's surface to allow the fish to swim out on its own.

3
Repeat the collection process until all of the fish are removed from the pond.
-
4
Reintroduce the fish to pond waters by lowering the bucket to just under the surface of the water. Tip the bucket to allow the fish to swim out on their own without colliding together.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid bumping the fish into each other or other surfaces which may result in scrapes, scale damage, illness or even death.
Don't keep fish in a temporary holding bucket any longer than a few hours. Establish an aquarium if it's necessary for the fish to be out longer.
