You slice your finger on some paper and your finger starts to bleed. You pull out a Band-Aid and place it on your punctured finger. Toward the end of the day, you're ready to tear off the Band-Aid, but you fear pulling off any nearby hair follicles. But don't fear. There are easy ways for you to remove that Band-Aid without any more pain to your already injured finger.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cotton ball or swab
  • Baby oil or olive oil
  • Washcloth

Step1
Soak a cotton ball or swab in baby oil. If you don't have baby oil, olive oil can work just as well. Make sure the area by the Band-Aid is clean.
Step2
Rub the oil-soaked cotton ball or swab over the Band-Aid. The Band-Aid should fall right off. If it doesn't, it should be easier to remove.
Step3
Wet a washcloth with warm water if you don't have any oil. Place the washcloth on the Band-Aid, and let it soak for a few minutes. The Band-Aid should either fall off or be easier to peel off. This should only work if the Band-Aid isn't waterproof.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you need to apply another Band-Aid to the same place you just removed the bandage, make sure you clean the skin thoroughly after using the oil. If you don't, the Band-Aid won't stick.
  • Another easy way to remove the Band-Aid is to remove the bandage while in the shower or bathtub. Soaking the Band-Aid with water helps loosen the bandage from the skin.
