Getting the cheekbones right on the face paint for a skull is the most difficult part of the process. The rest is simply white with black around the eyes and a triangle over the nose. You want to outline the line that exists between the upper jaw of the skull and lower jaw on a person's face.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin at the hairline, right below the temple where the cheekbone begins. For most people this will be right where the sideburns of their hair begins. For women, it will be the tip of the triangular area of hair directly in front of the ear.

  2. Step 2

Use the black face paint to make a curve downward under the cheekbone.

  3. Step 3

Bring the same line back up to the cheekbone.

  4. Step 4

Curve the line back downward directly under the apple of the cheekbone. The entire line should look something like an a flattened S.

  5. Step 5

Leave the line as it is or take the line straight downwards to the jaw. The extra line gives the skull shape a look that is more flattened.

  6. Step 6

Go over the line several times to ensure that it is an defined and evenly distributed line.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try practicing this step of skull face painting before you use all the face paint together. It may take several tries to get the outlining of the cheekbones to look the way you want.
  • Look at pictures of skulls to get an idea of the look that you are going for. There is a distinct line on skulls between the upper and lower jaw that you want to create with the face paint. Using a picture will give you a realistic idea of what you are trying to draw with the face paint.
