If you have dark hair and fair skin, you know the curse of dark body hair. Chemical bleaches work wonders; however, the harsh ingredients can damage and irritate your skin. If you want to lighten the hair on your arms, you can mix up your own bleaching agents for a fraction of the cost with less irritation.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Mix one part ammonia with four parts hydrogen peroxide and then add enough mild soap flakes to make a paste. Start with a small amount and then mix more as needed. Spread the paste thickly onto your arm hair and allow to set. Check the hair every five minutes or so, and when it has lightened to your liking, rinse with warm water. Repeat as needed.
Step2
Place some flour in a bowl and then add enough lemon juice to make a paste. Both flour and lemon juice lighten hair naturally and gently. Again, spread the paste on your arms and leave until dry. If necessary, you can reapply the mixture for further bleaching.
Step3
Treat yourself to an occasional hot milk bath. Milk contains lactic acid which will not only gently lighten the hair on your arms, it will also moistures and exfoliate your skin. Usually 2 or 3 cups of whole milk or cream is enough for a standard bath tub. Soak and enjoy.
Step4
Wear a minimum SPF 15 sunscreen everyday, a habit that is even more important when lightening your body hair. Bleaching agents, whether natural or chemical, will increase your skin's sensitivity to UV rays. Even with sunscreen applied to your skin, the sun will continue to naturally lighten the hair on your arms.
