How to Make a Turkey and Tuna Sandwich

Most of us grew up eating good old-fashioned tuna sandwiches. If you still love tuna sandwiches but you're tired of the same old thing, try a dressed up version of the old favorite. Add another dimension with some juicy turkey, and combine it with crunchy celery and add a bit of habanero pepper for zing.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Canned tuna
  • Sliced turkey
  • Eggs
  • Celery
  • Onion
  • Carrot
  • Mayonnaise
  • Chopped habanero chile
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Bread of your choice
  1. Step 1

    Prepare hard boiled eggs and allow the eggs to cool. Then, chop the eggs into small chunks.

  2. Step 2

    Chop the celery, onion, and habanero chile and grate the carrot. Put the ingredients into a small mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

    Drain the tuna thoroughly and add it to the vegetable mixture.

  4. Step 4

    Mix in the mayonnaise, eggs, salt and freshly ground pepper and stir the mixture until the ingredients are thoroughly blended.

  5. Step 5

    Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

  6. Step 6

    Spread the tuna mixture on fresh bread, and top it with a slice of turkey and an additional piece of bread.

Tips & Warnings
  • Any kind of bread is delicious with turkey and tuna sandwiches. Try some crusty white bread, whole wheat, sourdough or even pita pockets.
  • A slice of swiss cheese or cheddar cheese is a delicious addition to turkey and tuna sandwiches. If you like the cheese melted, place the sandwiches under the broiler for a few seconds.
  • Turkey and tuna sandwiches can also be grilled.
