How to Get a Boy to Not Like You

Despite all of your hints to the contrary, one of your friends is still convinced that you're the perfect girl for him. Help him realize that you'll never think of him in a romantic way, but that you'd still like to be friends someday.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Take the boy aside and tactfully state that you don't think of him romantically and that you're not interested in dating him. Be kind but blunt so he won't believe he can change your mind by being persistent.
Step2
Show him that you're not the person he thinks you are. Discuss your bad habits, negative attitude or lack of patience, for instance. Reveal how incompatible you are by mentioning the school subjects, hobbies, movies, food and types of music that you love and he doesn't.
Step3
Stay away from him as much as possible. Steer clear of his after school hangouts, find a new place to have lunch or sit in a different section during football games, for example. If he doesn't see you everyday, he may find someone new to pursue.
Step4
Respond in an indifferent way when he emails or text messages you. Ignore his requests for dates or change the subject if he discusses anything romantic. Allow several days to pass before you reply. Eventually, he might realize that you're not worth the effort.
Step5
Start dating someone else. Seeing you flirting and hanging out with another boy will make him understand that he has no chance with you.
Step6
Find him another girl to like. Discover someone available who has a similar background, study habits and favorites who would enjoy sharing his hobbies and interests. Fix them up on a blind date or simply introduce them at a party or school event.
