Spas are famous for their relaxing body treatments that leave you feeling calm, relaxed and beautiful; however, not everyone can afford such extravagance. With a few simple tips you can create a relaxing spa experience at home for a fraction of the cost.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soft music
  • Aromatic candles
  • Herbal tea
  • Wine
  • Book
  • Facial mask
  • Cucumber
  • Pumice stone
  • Loofah
  • Sea salts
  • Milk
  • Essential oils
  • Body oils
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
  1. Step 1

Create a quite environment for your relaxing evening. Turn off your cell phone and computer and unplug your telephone so that you will not be disturbed. Send your kids to a friend's house and tell the hubby to treat himself to an outdoor activity or an evening with his buddies. Take all measures necessary to ensure that you will not be disturbed.

  2. Step 2

Set the atmosphere for relaxation. Turn on some soft music, light some aromatic candles and make yourself a cup of herbal tea or even treat yourself to a glass of wine. You may even want to select a good book for reading while enjoying your spa evening.

  3. Step 3

Prepare some simple supplies for your spa treatment. Select or make your facial mask and cut a few slices of cucumber for your eyes. You may also want to add sea salts, milk or essential oils to your hot tub to enjoy the relaxing effects of these natural products. Some other items that might be nice include a pumice stone for your feet, a loofah for gentle exfoliation and body oils for after your bath. Additionally, prepare a plate of fresh fruits and vegetables that you can enjoy while soaking.

  4. Step 4

Prepare a hot bath, adding sea salts and milk while the water is running. Wait until the water cools a bit to add essential oils, as the heat can destroy the healing benefits. As the water is running, apply your facial mask and then climb into your relaxing tub.

  5. Step 5

Soak in your tub for as long as you like, enjoying your home spa treatment. Read your book, sip your drink, nibble on your healthy snacks, treat your skin and allow all your tension to float away. At the end of your bath, rinse off your mask and pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Apply a nice moisturizer to your skin and enjoy the refreshing feeling.
