How to Decide Whether to Go Out or Stay In

School was really tough this week, and you're ready for a break. Going out with friends would be a great way to shake off the stress but staying in and getting some "me" time sounds like paradise. Deciding what you want to do can be a bit tricky.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Focus on the fact that either option is great, and you're very lucky to be in that position. That said, it's time to make a list.
Step2
Write two columns (even if you do it mentally)--one for going out and one for staying in. Write examples of activities you would do under each heading. For example, take a bath, play games with my siblings, watch a DVD, or go bowling, hit the mall with friends, and so on.
Step3
Think about the pros for each activity you have listed and write them down. Do the same with the cons for each activity.
Step4
Look at your schedule for the next week. If it's another crazy week, you might want to stay in and take a break; if it's low-key, you might want to go out and break loose.
Step5
Ask others around you if they care what you decide. You might discover that a friend has been dying to take you somewhere or that a sibling really misses spending time with you at home.
Step6
Weigh the pros and cons, make a decision, then act on it with no second thoughts. If, after your list of pros and cons, you still can't decide, then toss a coin and enjoy the final decision.
