How to Improve Fighting Reflexes
The body has a host of natural reflexes, like blinking or pulling a hand back from a hot stove. We can also train to create reflexes in our bodies by repeating the same action over and over until it's automatic. When you use repeated stimulation and activation of the synapses, new reflexes are developed. Ongoing training is necessary, however, to maintain the new reflexes.

1
Analyze the defense weaknesses that need improvement. List the types of punches and attacks to focus fighting reflexes and response. Work on one attack at a time.
-
2
Work with a training partner and ask him to execute the specific attack slowly. Understand which attacks to block and which to dodge. Block the attack or train to respond with a counter attack.
-
-
3
Spend about 15 minutes on the defense of the same attack. Have the training partner increase the speed of the attack as progress continues.
-
4
Switch to another defense or attack mode. Start slowly and increase the challenge as progress is made. Spend about 15 minutes working on this specific attack.
-
5
Train in this fashion on four different attacks. Develop defenses for each. After 15 minutes, switch to the next one. Repeat the cycle twice. Notice how the body begins to "remember" the moves and responds more quickly. Continue practicing until the response is automatic.
-
6
Work with different training partners to improve fighting reflexes by responding to various styles of attack. Keep a regular training schedule in order to maximize training sessions.
-
7
Join a martial arts gym. Work with professionals to learn the best ways to counter-attack and increase fighting reflex time.
