Glove guns are a bit of a cult craft with unlimited advice on materials, assembly and ways to improve accuracy available online. Easy to assemble with materials found around the house, a glove gun can be ready to fire in less than 5 minutes and then deliver hours of fun.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Disposable latex glove
  • Electrical tape or duct tape
  • Paper tube from a roll of toilet tissue or paper towels or PVC pipe
  • Ammunition, (paper wads)
  • Scissors

Step1
Assemble the equipment and materials. Read through the directions before beginning.
Step2
Cut the thumb from the latex glove. Include about 1 inch of material below the thumb itself. Discard the rest of the glove.
Step3
Trim a longer paper tube to about 2 1/2 inches or use the PVC pipe. Take the thumb from the glove and fit it over one end of the tube. Secure it to the end of the tube with electrical tape or duct tape.
Step4
Take an unsharpened pencil and insert it into the thumb piece. Push the pencil down so that it goes inside the tube.
Step5
Reach in the other end of the tube and grab the end of the pencil that's in the tip of the thumb. Pull it back and release to shoot it out the front of the tube.
Step6
Make targets or print them out. Have outdoor target practice with the glove guns.
Step7
Collect ripe berries to use an ammunition. Use the glove guns in a makeshift paintball competition.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never use the glove gun to shoot at living things. Projectiles from the glove gun could seriously injure people and animals.
  • Never shoot the glove gun indoors. A ricocheting projectile could injure someone.
