Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pancake mix or favorite pancake recipe
  • Vanilla extract or vanilla flavoring
  • Powdered sugar
  • Bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Griddle
  • Spatula
  • Sifter
  1. Step 1

Choose your favorite boxed pancake mix or use your favorite recipe. Make either one as you normally do by combining your dry and wet ingredients. Mix them together using a wooden spoon or spatula.

  2. Step 2

Stir powdered sugar into your well-mixed pancake batter. The powdered sugar adds a hint of sweetness and enhances the vanilla flavor. Stir vigorously to make sure the powdered sugar does not add lumps to your batter. Sift the powdered sugar first to lessen the lumps.

  3. Step 3

Add vanilla extract or vanilla flavoring to your batter. Stir the batter vigorously again to ensure that the vanilla is equally distributed throughout the batter.

  4. Step 4

Cook the pancakes as you normally do on your pancake griddle. Grease the griddle to avoid sticking. Flip the vanilla pancakes when the batter begins to bubble to prevent them from burning.

  5. Step 5

Sift a light dusting of powdered sugar over the fully cooked pancakes. Use the remaining powdered sugar to do this. This light dusting gives the vanilla pancakes a nice garnish.

  6. Step 6

Serve the pancakes with butter, syrup or fresh fruit.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add fresh fruit such as strawberries or blueberries to your batter to make fruity vanilla pancakes.
