Things You’ll Need:
- Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional
Step1
Start Adobe Acrobat 8 and open an existing PDF that contains text that you would like to outline before editing using the Text Edit tools.
Step2
Click the "Select" tool from the "Select & Zoom" toolbar. This tool is depicted by a picture of an I-beam and arrow.
Step3
Select the text you would like to suggest for editing by clicking and dragging over the text to highlight it.
Step4
Use the "Text Edits" button on the "Comment & Markup" toolbar to view the drop-down list of text editing options available to you.
Step5
Choose the type of Text Edit tool you would like to use from the drop-down menu by clicking on it. You can choose to replace the selected text, highlight it, add a note to it, insert text at the cursor, underline the selected text or cross out for deletion.
Step6
Make any appropriate notes in the pop-up note that may come up depending on what type of editing tool you choose to use. Close the pop-up note and view the markup selection that now appears over the selected text.
