How to Have a Career After American Idol Like Fantasia

Fantasia is an award winning singer and Broadway actress. She was the grand winner of the popular television show American Idol in 2004. After her time on American Idol, Fantasia went on to become an actress and continued to develop her career in many ways. Here are a few steps on how to have a career after American Idol like Fantasia.

  1. Step 1

    Make an album and write your own songs. "Free Yourself" was Fantasia's first album, and it was a huge success.

  2. Step 2

    Appear in public places. Have album signing sessions and concerts anywhere you can get the space. Let your fans know who you are and what you are about. Be sociable with your fans. After all, your fans will be the main reason behind your fame. Fantasia usually performs at malls, churches and recreation centers around the U.S.

  3. Step 3

    Act in a movie. Make a movie about your life struggles and triumphs. Make sure your movie gets put onto the big screen or a television station that is widely watched like Lifetime. Fantasia was in a Lifetime movie called, "Life is Not a Fairytale."

  4. Step 4

    Star in a Broadway musical. Be the best voice and best dancer they have ever seen on Broadway. Be excited about your Broadway career. Fantasia worked on Broadway in "The Color Purple" from 2006 until 2008.

  5. Step 5

    Stay faithful to your family. Be a good parent and work hard to make your children proud. Fantasia has a daughter, Zion, that she loves dearly. Fantasia had her daughter at an early age, but never the less, she loves her little girl with all her heart.

    Write a book about your life and publish it. Fantasia has a book called, "Life Is Not A Fairytale." You also need an autobiography about your life also if you want to have a career after American Idol like Fantasia Barrino.
