How to Request a "Read-Receipt" in Outlook

This will explain how to tell when the recipient of your email, reads your email.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Outlook Express or Full Version
  1. Step 1

    First, open outlook, and create a new email message.

  2. Step 2

    Address your message and write it. Now look at the top for the "options" button on the tool bar. Click it.

  3. Step 3

    This will open a window where you can change many different options about your email. One of which being to request a return read receipt. Select this box, it should be the third one down. This will send you an email message letting you know when the recipient opened and read your email message.

Tips & Warnings
  • The recipient can choose to NOT send a read receipt when they receive your email.
