Here is a family recipe for brownies or "fudgies" that turns out well every time. You'll enjoy these moist chocolate brownies.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 3/4 cups melted butter
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1-3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans 3/4 cup Hersehy's semi-sweet chocolate chips
Step1
This family brownie recipe has always been highly requested around our house and its easy to make.
Pre-heat oven to 350. Grease a medium size baking pan with Crisco.
Step2
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and thoroughly mix. Add nuts last. Pour into pan.
Step3
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. A matchstick will come out without any brownie mix sticking to it when they are ready. I like mine a little messy and gooey so I usually under cook them. You can experiment with the cooking time that yields the consistency you like.

Tips & Warnings

  • Walnuts are yummy too or try mixing toasted pecans and walnuts both. Ghiradelli chips have a slightly different taste and are preferred by some.
  • Supervise children when using a hot oven.
