Bullets Bullets

A default feature of Word is to presume that if you type a dot or dash or other bullet-like text, followed by a space or a tab, and ending with a press of the enter key that you are attempting to create a bullet list. That presumption by Word sets off an automatic bullet format, complete with proper indentations so each time you press enter, a bullet automatically displays to start the next line. Great feature if that’s what you want, but what if you did not want bullets, or preferred to set them up yourself? Read on to see how to disable that feature.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Tools Menu Click on Tools in the top menu bar, and then click on AutoCorrect Options.
Step2
AutoFormat Tab Click on the AutoFormat tab. Under Apply, click the box next to “Automatic bulleted lists” to clear the box.
Step3
Click OK and automatic bulleting is disabled.
