How to apply makeup to problem skin

We wake up in the morning to see a big unsightly pimple, or have suffered from problem skin for some time, just how can we apply makeup without it looking overdone?

• The right shades of makeup for your skin tone

1. There are many differnt skin conditions that can discourage us from applying makeup and feeling good about ourselves. Unfortunately we have all been there from time to time dealing with problem skin. Don't let that stop you from feeling beautiful an applying makeup to help look and feel your best.
2. One of the most important things to remember when applying makeup to your face, is never overdo it! When you overdo it it makes your face look awful in my opinion. It also only emphasizes the problem rather then covering it up. So be careful and keep these tricks in mind.
3. The first thing you always want to work with is a fresh clean face. Cleanse your face with a gentle cleansing cream made especially for your problem skin. Applying moisturizer again special for the face and with your skin problem in mind, is the best way to go. Since washing your face to much will only irritate your skin further, only do it in the morning and at night. Apply moisturizer right after each time!
4. I have had sensitive skin my entire life and find that using skin cleansers, creams and lotions made especially for sensitive skin has helped my skin look and feel its best. You may have to go through a few differnt products to find the one that works best for you.
5. Once your skin is clean and moisturized, you want to start by gently dabbing the right shade of concealer on the problem area or areas. Then follow with the correct shade of foundation. Apply it however you like with your fingers (no matter what they say I have always preferred this method), a makeup sponge and be extra careful around the problem area.
6. Next apply a bit more of the concealer over the problem area, again gently dabbing it. then finish your look with either pressed or loose powder in the correct shade all over your face.Then go ahead and emphasize your eyes with eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara if you wish or just mascara, whatever you prefer.
7. When applying blush do so carefully, if the problem area is on the checks you may want to avoid this all together. It may emphasize the problem area. Then apply your lip color or lip gloss for a finished look. You can not hide your skin problem entirely, but you can help improve your overall look.
