Learn how to make the Banana Bread to end them all!!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • about 4 medium sized bananas, very ripe
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup toasted, chopped walnuts
  1. Step 1

Set oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom of loaf pan or use parchment to line.

  2. Step 2

Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in separate bowl. In the mixer beat sugar and eggs until light and fluffy with wisk attachment, about 7 minutes. Drizzle in melted butter after it cools slightly. Add pre-mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla. Fold in dry ingredients and walnuts. Pour into pan and bake for 45 minutes to an hour.

  3. Step 3

Bread is done when top is brown, and toothpick comes out clean from center. The bread may also start to pull away from the sides.

Tips & Warnings
  • To get the best out of the bananas, make sure that they are very ripe and then put them in the freezer until they are frozen solid. You can do this with leftover bananas instead of tossing them away. Thaw them out completely before use by putting them in a bowl in the kitchem for a few hours. There may be some banana lining that gets stuck to the flesh, just cut away a thin piece with a knife.
