Ingrown hairs can be very painful and bothersome. Most resulting from shaved hairs that get trapped inside the follicles or hair that grows back into the skin. It can cause redness, swelling and some frustration. With a little time and patients you can avoid ingrown hairs in just a matter of a few weeks.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Razor
  • Anthony Logistics for Men
  • Tweezers
Step1
Consider using a post- shave product that contains Salicylic acid. Try to avoid foam based shaving creams. This can dry and irritate your skin. I recommend using Anthony Logistics for Men. They have a great line of products and their ingrown hair treatment works very well. Women can use it too, even though it says it is for men.
Step2
Avoid using alcohol or products containing alcohol on your skin. Not only will it dry your skin out but it will worsen the ingrown hairs.
Step3
Keep you pore unclogged by exfoliate the skin. This will remove the top layer of dead skin and help manage ingrown hairs. I find that using a gently face scrub works best.
Step4
Do not shave too close to the skin. The hair stubs cut to close to the skin will get trapped inside the hair follicle resulting in painful hair growth sideways or inwards.
Step5
Avoid shaving to close by not pulling the skin when you shave and not putting to much pressure on the blades. Consider shaving with a single blade.
Step6
For current ingrown hairs lift the hair out with tweezers. Careful not to pluck the hair, this will make the hair re-grow deeper.
Step7
Use products that well reduce redness and swelling.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have persistent ingrown hairs see a dermatologist.
  • If you have any irritation following the use of any product please discontinue use.
