How to Set Up A Remote Desktop Connection for Windows Vista

Even though you are away from the office, you can still get on the office computer. Remote Desktop Connection allows you to get on the network through your personal computer!

Things You’ll Need:

• Home Computer or Laptop
• Network IP Address
• Windows Vista

1. The new Windows Vista program has the Remote Desktop Connection already set up. So there is no need to download any programs.
2. Go To Start
3. Click On All Programs
4. Click On Accessories
5. Then Click On Remote Desktop Connection
6. When The Dialog Box opens Type In the IP Address of the network you need to get on.
7. Type in your User ID & Password. If a another Box Pops-up asking if you would like to connect. Click Yes.
   Now you should be on the network.

Tips & Warnings

• This is merely a tool on how I get on to my company's network
• Make sure you type in the EXACT IP address
• some networks may require additional log-on information
• some networks may be firewalled preventing you from having remote access
