How to make a tomatoe sauce from the cupboard (for children)

This recipe explains how to make a tomato sauce out of canned tomatoes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 tins of canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbs of tomato puree
  • 1 tsp of italian herbs
  • Garlic (optional)
  • 2 tbs of tomato ketchup-adds sweetness for children
  • Blender
Step1
Empty tins of tomatoes into blender with 2 tbs of tomato puree and 2 tbs of tomato ketchup (if desired, sprinkle herbs and spices on top if wanted. Add garlic at this point if it is wanted.
Step2
Use a blender Blend ingredients until the consistency required. Some children do not like lumps, so blend until smooth if this is the case.
Step3
This sauce is great with meatballs-yum Cook pasta or whatever sauce is for and when this is finished cooking heat sauce and pour over pasta etc.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may need to drain one of the tins of tomatoes so that the sauce is not too watery.
