The dreaded 7-10 split
The dreaded 7-10 split

Possibly the toughest split to pick up, the 7-10 is dreaded by bowlers.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer with internet access
  1. Step 1
    starting point

Place the ball to the far left.

  2. Step 2
    aiming and release
    aiming and release

Aim for the far right by the outside frame of the lane.

  3. Step 3
    curving the ball
    curving the ball

Before it gets to the gutter, press and hold down the left mouse button.

  4. Step 4

Keep working at it. This is a difficult shot and I still don't pick up this split most of the time.

Remember, it doesn't hurt anything to try to pick up this split. Worst case scenario, you get 8 pins instead of 9 - but as long as you try you might just get that spare!!!

  5. Step 5

So, I revisited my old article to add an additional resource for visitors. Much to my dismay, I found out that eHow now has a length requirement that my simple little instructions did not meet. As a result, I'm am adding this completely superfluous step to appease the eHow powers that be. Tip - if I come across this problem again, you may just see this identical paragraph.

I hope you enjoy my article.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you love Pogo, please join my new eHow group, Pogo Nuts. I've included the link in the Resources section.
  • This is NOT a cheat. This is a VERY difficult shot to get and if you want to get it honestly, you just need to keep trying.

on 5/7/2009 I've converted the 7-10 maybe a half dozen times because of your article and video. I find I have to come back to view the video every now and then. I came here today for a refresher, and was disappointed to find it was no longer here. I guess the new length requirement doesn't allow you to use it? Have you considered putting it on YouTube... or have you already?

on 1/31/2009 I'm a pretty decent Pogo bowler, but I still get that 7-10 more than I'd like, but haven't been able to convert it again. So I'm back here for a refresher.

on 12/7/2008 Congratulations!! (insert dancing cacti here) I happened across a video once that showed me how to do it, so I wanted to share it with more people. I hope you don't get too much practice though ;)

on 12/7/2008 This may never be seen by the poster, but ever since I saw this video some months ago, I've been going for this split using the technique shown here... having opportunity all to often. I've seen the 7 pin fly towards the 10 pin so I knew it was possible. Today this video paid off! I converted the 7-10!! What a feeling. To top things off, I was bowling a game while I was typing this... got the 7-10 again... and converted it again!! Practice! Practice! Practice! It pays off!!
