Craving something cold? Something chocolate-y? Something sweet and delicious? Before you sabotage your diet and reach for a thick chocolate milk shake, give this healthy protein-packed smoothie a try.
Forget about the measuring cups and spoons. Half the fun of making a smoothie is dumping in a little of this and a little of that. If it's too thick, add more milk; too runny, add more yogurt. Experiment until you have it tasting just right.
Step2
Put all of your ingredients into the blender. The majority of the smoothie is made up of the vanilla yogurt and milk. Half of one banana might be enough, depending on your personal preferences. You'll only need about a tablespoon or two of peanut butter, Ovaltine, and whey protein powder.
Step3
Blend your ingredients on high until your smoothie is, well . . . smooth. Take a taste to decide if it needs more of anything and make the adjustments. Pour it into a nice tall glass and enjoy.
Tips & Warnings
Peel bananas and keep them in the freezer so that they are readily available whenever your smoothie-cravings hit.
Feel free to use chocolate flavored whey protein powder instead of the Ovaltine and vanilla flavored protein powder.
The whey protein powder is optional, but the extra protein fills you up, builds muscle, and burns off more calories in digestion.
Use a straw. Smoothies just taste better with a straw.
Beware of peanut allergies. Soy peanut butter can be substituted.
