Some days there is just no motivation to do anything and it feels good to have a lazy day! If you are REALLY lazy already, you will probably be too lazy to read this article. But for those busy-bodies out there who don't seem to know HOW to slow down and relax, read on and giver yourself a break!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Call in sick to work on a weekday or cancel any obligations on a weekend day.
Step2
Sleep in as late as you can. Put a sheet over your window to make the room darker so will sleep longer.
Step3
When you slowly wake up, slowly drag yourself out of bed and go sit in front of your TV or computer. When you start feeling really hungry, eat some cereal or something else simple and effortless. Don't bother brushing your teeth or taking a shower. (unless you are around other people, then please do thank you!)
Step4
After eating, go back to your TV,computer or book and zone out for a while. Stay in your pajamas.
Step5
Lounge around all day doing nothing productive. Do whatever else you like doing as long as it isn't accomplishing anything.
Step6
When you get hungry again, order something that can be delivered or eat something simple that you have on hand.
Step7
Watch more TV, movies, play solitaire, video games, or engage in any other mindless activity.
Step8
Now that your long hard day is coming to an end and you haven't showered all day, take a nice relaxing bath and then go to bed....after watching more tv! OR.....after a long lazy day of doing nothing, around 10 pm, finally get yourself together and go out and enjoy the night life!
Step9
In response to trishmiller's comment:
To make this work with kids, a dog and husband?
While you sleep in, Husband gets up and makes breakfast with the kids, then takes them and the dog out for the day....maybe he takes the camping! Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish having a lazy day?

Tips & Warnings

  • No Cleaning
  • Limited personal Hygiene
  • No Cooking
  • No Laundry
  • No Work
  • If you do leave your house, make it a trip to starbucks or some other drive-thru treat.
  • This should not be a lifestyle! If your daily life consists of greasy hair, stinky clothes and World of Warcraft,Soap Operas, or infomercials.....then start doing the OPPOSITE of this article.

on 5/16/2008 ah, can't we add a comment about finding something we SHOULD be doing, then setting it aside so we can feel good about procrastinating on it, saving it for another day - it seems my lazy days are SOOOO much better when there's also something I'm postponing, too!! :)

on 5/15/2008 I was lazy for half a day last Friday. My best friend gave me, and her, a Mother's Day Facial and it was awesome. I rarely get a lazy day as I am a Mom of Twins.
