Using a valve stem tool or the tip of a screwdriver let all of the air out of the tube.

Undo the wheel nuts or quick releases and remove the wheel.

Remove the dustcap (if there is one).
Step4
Put a tyre lever (not screwdriver) between the tire and the rim just far enough to hook the tire. You don't want to contact the tube with the tyre iron because it may puncture the tube.

Start prying the tyre off the rim. Once you have is started place the tyre iron in again 8 inches or so from the last pry spot until one side of the tyre off of the wheel.

Push the valve stem (thing you let the air out of) through the rim into the tyre.

Pry the tyre with tyre iron to get started. Pull the second half of the tyre off the rim.

Wipe inside of your new tyre to remove any rocks or other debris.
Step9
Install first side of tyre (without tube) with your hands untill you need the tyre irons.
Step10
Place tube inside the half on tyre with the valve stem through the rim. install valve stem cap to keep valve stem from falling back into the tyre.
Step11
Push second half of tyre as much as you can with your hands, and finish with the tyre irons. Be careful not to contact the tube with irons.
Step12
If this tyre is for your kids bike put about 25 pounds of air in it.
Step13
Place on bike adjusting chain if needed. Chain should move up an down about .5 inches. Rotate chain and check several places.
Step14
Tighten nuts as if you were lifting 2 gallons of milk (16 foot pounds).
