Promoting clubs can be profitable but at the same time it can be a challenging task. The reason is because you're goal is the impossible, pleasing everyone all at the same time! You need to network, network and do more networking. Keep reading for more useful information...

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Do what you say you will do.
  • Hold yourself to the highest standards.
  • Work to exceed expectations.
  • Learn from your mistakes.
  • Share the lessons with others.

Step1
First you need to realize that this is a challenging career so if you're looking for a get-rich-quick job, this is definitely not it! Its exhausting work but its one of the most accomplishment felt jobs you can do. Most of the energy and motivation comes from you. People want to be motivated, so you need to motivate them. How can you persuade them to come to your event if you can't motivate them? The general public needs to know who you are and what you do in order to trust you. Building relationships with the public is vital but you need to be in the right state of mind. Be professional and outgoing!!
Step2
Network, network and network some more. Treat this as a project because once again we're not getting rich quick so you have time. This needs to be your hobby. Contrary to popular opinions you need to go in and meet the club Managers. Now, Managers aren't going to write out the check for you but its very important that this be your first step. Club Managers work long hours and are very seldom recognized. If you cater to Managers the rest should be fairly easy. Get them motivated too! Present your idea and have them contribute ideas also. This relationship is vital in the short run and in the long run because they'll feel important. Managers don't take too well to "outsiders" invading their space. Plus, they can introduce you to the staff and owner which is vital also. They are the ones who are at the club more than the owners so show respect to the Manager from the beginning to make your job much easier.
Step3
Ok, its show time!! By now you should have built a relationship with the club Manager, club staff and you're ready to have your network contacts attend your event. The Manager and staff are on line with your "big promotional idea" so they'll promote your idea to their customers and event attendants. Work on the event and event promotional materials, ie...flyer/posters, promotional giveaways (attendants will love this), etc... Spread the date, time and location to friends and family. Also promote it on your myspace, facebook, ehow, xpeeps and/or any other online community and hopefully you've done your part to have a great turnout!! If this accomplishment sparks some interest start from step 1 and repeat for next time. The second time around it'll be much easier because you've already developed a name for yourself and hopefully a following. Party on!!

Tips & Warnings

  • Never show anger. This is very important. You'll ruin your event and possible any future events. Emotion is not professional to begin with so showing anger is definitely the wrong thing to do.
  • Watch out for obstacles. The article is targeting someone who is interested in this type of work. Its difficult in itself without obstacles but its inevitable so be prepared for set backs. Normally its the date/time...due to holidays, so be sure to cover all bases.
