How to get the government to help you with your rent

Have you ever heard of a program called Section 8 or HUD? I will explain what it is and how you might be able to get help with your rent.

1. There are programs to help low income citzens of the Usa that can help you with your rent. They are income based and not everyone can get it.
2. Some of the programs are run in City buildings others are run out of separate offices. You need to conduct a seach in your local area to find out where they are.
3. This is a income based program so if you make money over the poverty line you might not be able to get assistance. But you can still apply. You need to find when and where you can be put on a list to get into the program. In my city it is called Section 8 and you are put on a waiting list before they see if they can help you.
4. It is worth the wait if you are accepted they pay a portion of your rent based on your income. One of the rules in my area is you have to have a income when they come to your name on the list. But if you lived on a fixed income this a great program so you can have you rent always paid.

• Call your local Chamber of Commerce or city building they might know where to dircet you.
• Even if you think you do not quailfy apply anyone your situation might change
• Never lie on any government application it is a fedreal offense.
• Do not give up in your search.
