How to Make a Mask

Have you ever wondered how to make a scary mask that you saw on television. Or do you want to stand out from the crowd during halloween? These simple steps will help you create anytype of mask that you would like from your own home.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Newspaper
• Aluminum foil
• large bowl
• plastic wrap
• masking tape
• water
• 1 cup flour
• acrylic paint
• 1 teaspoon salt

1. 1-Take the aluminium foil and place over your face so that you can have the mold for your mask.

2. 2-Put the mold of your face on a piece of the newspaper. Depending on the type of mask that you want to make, i.e. a scary witch with a big nose, add additional pieces of foil to the mold.

3. 3-Cover the mold with plastic wrap it should stick to the foil. Tape the plastic wrap under the mold.

4. 4-mix the flour and the salt in the bowl that you have. Make sure that the mixture is not to watery or too thick.

5. 5- Take the newspaper that you have and cut it into strips (1/4") Place them into the paste mixture and place on the mask. cover the mask with the strips, it is okay to overlap. Once your done with the first layer, add a second layer making sure that the whole mask has been covered. Let the mask dry over night.

6. 6-your mask should be dry by now. Go ahead and paint your mask and add any details that you want to. after the paint has dried remove the foil from the underside of it.

7. 7-Poke holes on side of the mask and attach the string. leave enough string so that you can tie it behind your head.

8. 8-Enjoy your mask!

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure to plan this project a few days before you need the mask since there is drying time required.
• Be sure to cover the workspace with foil or newspaper so that you do not ruin the furniture.
