Step2
If you can’t use washable plates and silverware, try recycled compostable plates that you can use in your composter or throw them away. The great thing about compostable plates is that they biodegrade very quickly and won’t take up landfill space. You can also find plastic cutlery made form corn and other plant sources in a variety of stores.
Step3
Try to use cloth items instead of paper napkins. Napkins last a long time and can be easily washed.
Step4
If you decide to grill, use natural gas. Charcoal may add more flavor to your food but it contains coal dust and sodium nitrate that harms the environment. Not to mentions the chemical effect of lighter fluid on the body and the environment. Natural gas is the cleanest and the most efficient. If you still want to keep the wood flavor, soak a few hickory chips in water and throw them on the grill before your food.
Step5
Go outdoors and leave the lights off. Try to rely on sunlight or beeswax candles which can be found in many stores.
Step6
At the end of the day, leave recycling bins next to your garbage bins. That way guest are considerate when throwing away there trash.
