It really sucks when you find a blog post, article, or even a product you've created that's posted on another website without your permission. So what should you do when someone steals your content?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Take a screen capture of the website that is plagiarizing your content.
Step2
Take a screen capture of the source code from the website that is plagiarizing your content.
Step3
Do a WHOIS search on the domain. You'll find out what company they are using to host their domain, and their domain registrar.
Step4
Contact the hosting company and file a DMCA complaint.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use Google Alerts to monitor unique text from your website. Google Alerts will monitor those keywords, and alert you whenever they find the text.
