Make Money Selling E-Books on eBay
Make Money Selling E-Books on eBay

With over 29 Million registered users on eBay there is a huge market for information. It's extremely easy to get started and make as easy as $100 to $1000 per week if you work at it. What I've done is I've created a couple of my own E-book's with referral links inside of them and when they sell I'm almost guaranteed a referral! Here are a few simple tips for setting up an E-Book business on eBay!

I've included a free E-Book to help get you started in your online E-Book adventure. You can download it below in the resources section.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet Access
  • eBay Account
  • Some Free E-Books w/ resell rights
  1. Step 1

Create an eBay and PayPal Account

  2. Step 2

Acquire a couple of E-Books to resell. Make sure they are not protected by copyright laws to avoid any legal trouble. You could do this in two ways. You could purchase them through eBay (they usually sell anywhere from .01 cent to $5). Don't worry about the price, you'll will make that up when you start selling. The other method is searching the internet for free E-Books that have resell rights. I've also provided you with a free E-Book that you can download in the resources section below.

  3. Step 3

Once you have a couple of books in your inventory write an in-depth description for each E-Book. It's also a good idea add a couple of pictures which will keep your potential customers attention when they are looking over your auction.

  4. Step 4

After you've completed the descriptions it's time to list your E-Books for sale. The sub-categories I've had the most success with are Information Products, and Totally Bizarre which are listed under the main category Everything Else. Never charge more than .99 cents or you'll never get a sale. Don't charge anything for shipping either since you could just email it to them.

  5. Step 5

Compress your E-Books with WinRar or WinZip so each file is as small in size as possible. Upload your files to a free file hosting website (I use MediaFire) for storage. When you upload each file you will receive a "sharing" link which is what you will send to the buyers via email.

  6. Step 6

When one of your E-Books sells, quickly respond to the buyer with an invoice. Once they send the payment send them an email thanking them for their purchase, include the download link from MediaFire and ask them if they have any questions to email you. Leave feedback as soon as they send payment.

  7. Step 7

    Watch the Money Role in!

Tips & Warnings
  • Come up creative titles to entice buyers to your auction
  • Write your own E-Book and sell it
  • Respond quickly to buyers questions
  • Set up a digital delivery system with a 3rd party if your business is booming
  • Never charge more than .99 cents for an E-Book
  • Don't sell copyrighted material
  • Shipping should always be free

on 9/17/2009 ebay charges you 9.95$ for listing in classified ad and listing in everything else for ebooks, so it does not look like a good idea to me

on 1/7/2009 Thank you, this is a great and detailed article. I agree with texaspeach, I tried selling an ebook and they made me do it in the classified section. I am just waiting right now even though I am not sure how I will receive the money since there is no bidding on it.

on 8/24/2008 Good Article, but Ebay has restricted the sell of digital items (they did this back in march). If you sell an ebook, IT CANNOT BE SENT BY EMAIL. You can still list ebooks, but they have to be listed only as a Classified ad in the EVERYTHING ELSE category or Ebay will cancel your listings and suspend your account.
