No worries, with a little discipline and direction you will soon be looking and feeling thinner, your clothes will be fitting better, and you will be rolling your eyes with the amount of compliments you'll be receiving.

Step1
The basics of weight loss or gain are very simple. Think of things as calories in, calories out. Its all simple math, really. There are 3500 calories in every pound of body fat...everyday your bod is working and using calories just to maintain your everyday activity (metabolism, sleeping, breathing, organs working, etc) and every day you are burning calories through activity (walking/running/weight routines, work, stairs, etc.) You are also everyday taking in calories through food. Step one involves keeping track of your calories. Start counting them.
Step2
Anything under 1200 calories a day is considered a starvation diet and will do more harm that good in the long run, slowing down your metabolism and making you excessively tired and groggy. For the first four weeks, try to eat a 1200 calorie diet, do not dip below 1200 calories, and break your meals into 4-6 little 'snacks.' If you are counting your calories correctly you will find that 1200 calories is not a lot of food, but you will also be amazed at how quickly excess pounds will shed off of you while you are eating this amount.
Step3
During this first month, any extra activity you include into your life is going to skyrocket your results. Don't go overboard, but again, if you are burning more calories than you are taking in, you ARE losing weight. It is considered healthy to lose 1-2 pounds a week but you may be losing quite a bit more than this on this diet so be careful and keep your eye on the results. After the first month, steadily increase your calories until you are burning between 1-2 calories weekly and keep this routine until you have reached your goal weight.
