You want to start running but you don't know where to start? The first thing to do is to get up off the couch, throw your shoes on, and head out the door.
Running Shoes, and an MP3 Player to keep you motivated.
Step1
You don't need to become a marathon runner all in one day. It doesn't happen that way, and if you try to make it happen that way, chances are you are going to be so sore the rest of the week you'll be hard pressed to crawl out of bed. So as the old saying goes, crawl before you walk, WALK before you run. If you have not been active in some time and just the idea of jogging makes the sweat bead up on your forehead, start with a walk. Start this routine out with two weeks of, four times a week, walking for thirty five minutes.
Step2
Every Segment of this routine is going to go in two week increments. After the first two weeks of solid walking, time to introduce a little pace change: Walk 10 minutes, Jog 3 and Walk 1 minute for 12 minutes, followed by a Walk of 10 minutes.
Step3
The following two weeks Walk 5 minutes, Jog 5 and Walk 1 for 18 minutes, Walk ten. The next two weeks, Walk 5 minutes, Jog 10 minutes, Walk 10 minutes. The next two weeks, Walk 10 minutes, Jog 15 minutes, Walk 10 minutes. The next two weeks Walk 5 minutes, Jog 20 minutes, Walk 10 minutes. Lastly, Walk 5 minutes, Jog 30, Walk 5...You are there! Congratulations!
