      Choose a theme for the party and decorate accordingly. Once you have chosen a theme, make a list of the things you will need such as dishes and cutlery. If you invite 10 people then make sure you have enough for 12. Use your own dishes and cutlery to save money. If you don't have enough then borrow some from family or friends. Use balloons, ribbons, paper streamers, small river rocks, and candles for decorating. These items are inexpensive and come in many different styles and colors. Key the styles and colors to your chosen theme.

      Find a nearby thrift store or dollar store to buy the material you have listed. This will save you money. Gather river rocks near a body of water or from the roadside.

      Prepare your own treats and snacks for the party at home. Bake chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. Decorate them with icing and sprinkles. Fill a bowl with candy and chocolate and serve it as a snack with drinks. You can serve a vegetable plate with dipping sauce as well as serve a box of mint and fruit covered chocolates.

      Blow up the balloons and cut the ribbons into equal lengths, about 2 feet long. Tie up the balloons with the ribbons and hang the balloons around the party room.
