Step1
Start on a Monday!
Don't be silly and think that you can start on Saturday! Enjoy your pre-diet weekend but try and cut down on carbs and start in on the water. You need to drink about eight 8oz. glasses a day. Once again, you should be doing this already so let's just start to make it a habit now. Start cutting out the salt on this pre-diet weekend too. If you stick with these two life-style changes (cutting out the added salt and drinking enough water) chances are you won't need any emergency diet any-who! Oh, and drop that snickers, buddy. Candy is carbs just like white flour and rice. Drop me a line if you need more advanced tips about carbs and what to avoid. Sometimes what I think everyone should already know is stuff that many don't know. Ooops and shame on you a little too.
Step2
Here comes Monday! Go!!
Take it easy on Monday and don't try to jump in too hard. The water' s cold when you dip into a quick-fix. In the morning have two eggs,(non stick cooking spray, Mrs. Dash, or hard boiled with pepper) you may have up to four if you are a man. Have some non-fat milk and your multi-vitamin.**To be noted; I will not be having you get out a measuring cup for any of this because you are not going to have any junk. All this is good for you. Eat up.*** For those of you that don't ever eat breakfast..shame on you again... eating in the morn may even be difficult. That's where the Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) comes in. If you get a sour stomach from eating in the morning this should ease the queasiness. Don't worry how or why. That's for another article. For those of you who eat at Denny's for breakfast, or like you're at Denny's, this may be hard to only eat that much. That's where the hard part comes in. Too bad. If you're still hungry have a salad with lemon and lots of green veggies too. Who said you can't have a salad in the morning? The bacon Nazis? No dressing. Get to know what veggies actually taste like. They don't taste like Ranch Dressing. Oh and start drinking your water too. Really, studies show that it can take your brain and stomach more than ten minutes to have that "I'm full" conversation. You may wonder why you eating breakfast if you don't normally. Isn't that just more food? Contrary to popular myth, you CAN'T change your bodies natural metabolism so that is not why. You CAN build more muscle and supply proper nutrients to the ones you have already so that your body can use the fuel you eat more efficiently, i.e. burn vs.. store.
Anyway ... moving on...Eat off the list of foods today. Keep it simple but try and stay full with veggies if you are starving. On step four I will cover the best foods to have and what veggies to avoid.
Therefore read step four and "jot" notes with a pencil before you start day one.
HINT****If you are one of those people who sabotage yourself in the evening, have a bowl of chilled, cubed, spiced chicken to snack on and some pre-chopped veggies. Try putting pepper and dried dill into non-fat plain yogurt as a dip. Tastes like ranch...BUT NO SALT! Geeze!
Step3
Okay..here comes a WHOLE WEEK!!!
Wait wait! You didn't tell me what to eat extacly and when!?!?!? Nope. I'll provide a good list to take to the grocery store. Eat off of this list when you are hungry. Do not starve yourself. Try to have a protein source at least three times a day, baked or boiled, no salt, cook in non fat cooking spray. Eat lots of the veggies. Try lots of spices, different methods of cooking, and have your green tea before you go to bed. If you are caffeine sensitive, have it a couple hours before bed. Green tea is a synergist and can help you remain in a calorie burning state for a wee bit longer. Have a few cups of coffee in the morning, but remember to drink your water. Oh, yes...your favorite T.V. show. You are going to do basic sit-ups, crunches, push-ups, and squats in a circuit (12 reps x 3) and then cool down with some basic stretching. This should fill up about a half an hour of your time. No heavy lifting or cardio during this time because you wont be eating enough carbs. The whole point of this week is to flush your body of excess water weight and give your blood sugar regulators a break.***NOTE..this diet should not be performed by anyone with any medical condition whatsoever. If you are a relatively healthy individual, you will be fine.*****
SO, that being said, move thru your torturous week with will power and motivation. If find a picture of a really hot Victoria's Secret model to be a good motivator. Put them right where your junk food stashes are. Try looking at that and not feeling even a tad bit envious. Works for men too for obvious reasons.

Step5
On Friday when you are starving for grease and sugar, pat yourself on the back and measure your waist, thighs, and step on the scale. If it didn't help you drop a few pounds, you cheated, didn't drink enough water, salted your foods, or didn't eat enough at all.
Ease off on Saturday by maybe adding a potatoes, whole grain bread, starchy veggie and some fruit. Add a little salt back in but ration it. You will need it for your potassium stores. Have a banana too.
DO NOT do this diet for two or more weeks in a row. This is an ultra low calorie diet and has practically no carbs. That is a no-no no matter what Atkins freak tells you it's good for you.
If you need more tips or help, please let me know. I'll be happy to assist you through the week-o-yuk.
But, it's worth it too. Hope you make it and that this helps!
