Ever dropped your phone in water or got soaked when a bottle of coke fell over your trousers? Such accidents are not uncommon. Fret not! Here comes an inexpensive remedy to salvage your beloved phone or iPod!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • uncooked rice
  • bowl

Step1
uncooked rice since most of the electronic gadgets are not covered by the warranty for water damages, what can you do to save the cost of sending in for a repair and ended with a hefty bill? The answer: uncooked rice.
Step2
power off the device/gadgets if it is not already off, and cover the gadget or device completely in a bowl of uncooked rice. Being a natural desiccant, rice will help to absorb the excess moisture from the devices/gadgets.
Step3
Dry the battery/sim card separately if it is removeable to speed up the drying process for 24 hours. Meanwhile please do not attempt to charge the devices/gadgets/phones. This is an inexpensive home remedy worth trying before rushing down to your service agents.

Tips & Warnings

  • Separate the battery/sim card to speed up the drying process
  • May try hair dryer (on a mild side)
  • DO NOT charge the device/gadgets/phones while it is still wet.
