Step1
Sand Castle Building is an activity that anyone can enjoy. From the young to the old, everyone loves constructing a beautifully crafted 5 foot tall monstrosity out of sand. Get as creative as you want, add a mote, flags, entrance or whatever you can think of.
Step2
Frisbee is an excellent activity to get your heart rate going. Get a game of ultimate Frisbee going and you’re in for a treat. Make sure when playing you choose an area that is not too crowded. Frisbee disks have a tendency to go astray especially if you’ve never thrown one before.
Step3
Monster Golf is an extremely fun activity for the whole family or friends. It consists of a giant waffle golf ball and club that you can purchase at any Wal-Mart or Target for less than $10. The best way to play is set up a small course in between markers. Your best bet is the lifeguard towers or trashcans on the
beach, they are just the right distance and are big target than anyone can see.
Step4
Bocce Ball is another fun activity that almost anyone can play at the beach. It can get extremely competitive if you play with teams so don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Check out the eHow article on how to play.
Step5
Surfing is probably one of the most popular things to do at the beach. It does have a learning curve but almost anyone can learn on a long board. Most beaches have stores that rent soft boards for beginners. When learning try to stay in an open area so that you don’t run into any swimmers or boogie boarders that may be enjoying the same water space.
Step6
Boogie boarding is extremely safe and fairly easy to partake in. They’re pretty easy to find at the stores around the beach and not too expensive.
Step7
Skim boarding is another activity that the kids can enjoy at the beach. These too are easy to find and fairly inexpensive. When learning keep in mind that skim boards are fairly heavy and can shoot out right from underneath you so try to stay in a less crowded area.
Step8
Burying someone in the sand can be tons of fun and it’s free! Dig a small body length hole about 1 foot deep and coerce someone to lie down in it. Take some pictures to remember the day you buried your dad and shaped sand ****s on him.
Step9
Boogie board racing is another fun activity that I would recommend for the younger crowd. Get two boogie boards and have two people sit down on them. Have two other (strong) people pull them as fast as they can along the shoreline. Watch out for pedestrians.
Step10
Wiffle Ball Baseball is a safe sport that almost anyone can play. Set up bases up 20 feet apart with towels or whatever you can find and get a game going with your friends or family.
Step11
Snorkeling is fun if you’re a water person and the water is warm enough. You can view all kind of interesting things on the bottom of beaches including fish, shells, shopping bags, etc.
Step12
Bodysurfing is the simplest form of enjoying the water if you don’t want to purchase anything. Just make sure to keep your hands in front of you if you go over the falls so as not to face plant into the sand.
Step13
Chasing birds is simple yet enjoyable! Anyone can remember when they were young chasing seagulls and pigeons around on the beach.
