Computers are great especially when you got a new computer at home just taken out of the box. But what do you do when it starts to slow down on you?

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • a central unit
  • a mouse
  • a keyboard
  • a monitor
  • windows xp installed

Step1
Turn on your computer
Step2
Wait for all processes to load
Step3
Right-click on the My Computer icon situated on the desktop or in the Start menu
Step4
Select Properties from the drop-down menu by left-clicking on it
Step5
From the window that appeared select the Advanced menu from the upper-side
Step6
From the new menu that appeared select select Settings from the visual effects category
Step7
A window will then appear from which you will have to select the adjust for best performance option
Step8
Then click ok
Step9
After that click Apply
Step10
And then click ok once more

Tips & Warnings

  • This will modify the way in which your desktop looks
  • Do not do this if you do not need to
  • After this setting is made you will have a windows 98 desktop
  • All visual effects for your desktop will be erased
