If you are looking to attract raccoons to an area, this is how you can make one out of nothing but an old tire. We use them to train our coonhound puppies to find fresh raccoon scent.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Old tire, with or without the rim
  • Corn
  • Rope
  • Water

Step1
If you would like to use an old tire with the rim still on, cut 5-6 holes on the top side.
Step2
Lay flat on the ground.
Step3
Pour in a generous helping of corn.
Step4
Add a bit of water to the corn. It will ferment some and the raccoons will tend to be the only animals that will still enjoy the corn. Deer, etc will leave the feeders alone.
Step5
If you have an old tire that doesn't have a rim still on it, simply hang the tire up in a tree a couple feet off the ground and follow steps 3-4.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add kool-aide or 'coon potion' to the water
