How to field strip a glock

Quick guide to breaking down and cleaning your glock.

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Glock

1. Remove the magazine.
2. Pull the slide back to remove round from chamber. For extra precaution, rack the slide a few times.
3. Glocks require you to pull the trigger to release the firing pin prior to breaking down. Aim the gun in a safe direction, and pull the trigger.
4. Grasp the back part of the slide with one hand and pull it back enough to release the tension.
5. Pull the slide release tabs on each side of the gun with your thumb and index finger of the opposite hand.
6. Release the slide, and pull it forward off of the gun.
7. When done cleaning, inspecting, etc... Take slide and slide back on from the front. Pull slide all the way back and release.

• USE CAUTION WHEN HANDLING FIREARMS. KEEP FIREARMS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. ENSURE GUN IS EMPTY BEFORE PULLING TRIGGER. NEVER POINT A GUN (LOADED OR UNLOADED) AT ANYTHING YOU DON'T INTEND TO DESTROY.
