Step1
Making sure you stay keep in touch with friends and family. They are their for you when you need someone to talk to or hangout with. They know what you are going through and they support you.
Step2
Keeping yourself busy by getting involved in community activities and family readiness groups are all good ways of getting involve. You get to know what is going on with your soldier, airman, seaman, or marine. They keep you inform. And, you know your not alone. It will let time past by so much faster.
Step3
Getting together with other wives or husbands for coffee. Getting to know and meet other wives and husbands out their. Its also a great way to set up a play date or play group for those that have children. Cause i know how it is their are times you just need to relax. This is also a great way to get kids to interact with other kids that have parents that are deployed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Read community boards and newsletters to know what is going on.
  • Get involved in your community really helps, especially when you are away from friends and family.
