Epinions.com will pay writers for their reviews on products and services. You won't get rich, but it might help you with extra spending money. Here are some tips on how to earn money on Epinions.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet connection
  • Products/Books/Services, etc. to review
  • Free time

Step1
Visit www.epinions.com and sign up for an account. Try to think of a cute, eye catching member name that people will remember and be more likely to click on.
Step2
Click the resources link below for sample reviews, look over those to get an idea of what a review is like. You can also skim through reviews on the Epinions site.
Step3
Review films Write reviews on everything from books you've read, to convenience foods you've tried, movies, hotels, toys, electronics, diapers, and much more. Be sure to be very thorough in your reviews.
Step4
Try to write reviews when they are offering "10 for 10" - meaning you get paid $10 for every 10 reviews you write. You also get an extra $10 for every 10 "very helpful" reviews that you publish, meaning you can earn up to $200 in the months they offer 10 for 10. (They are currently offering 10 for 10 in April 2008.)
Step5
VERY IMPORTANT: Always write at least 200 words, preferably 250 or more. If you write less than 200 words it is considered an "express review" and you will not get paid for it. To see how many words your review is before you submit it, cut/paste it into word and do a word count.
Step6
Use html tags (bold, italics) in your review. Try to have subtitles and keep the review organized. White space is good!
Step7
Be sure to spell check your reviews.
Step8
After you submit a review, click on other reviews and rate them. The review writer will see that you visited and be more likely to read your review, thus giving you more hits and $$. It's best to click on and rate new reviews, click on a category such as "kids and family." Scroll down to "Read new reviews in kids and family" and rate those reviews. Try to rate as many reviews. Or you can just go to the new reviews page: http://www.epinions.com/show_~recent_content.
Step9
If you see a writer who writes good reviews, add them to your trust list.
Step10
Continue to write reviews. Add links to them from your web-site or blog, if you have one. You can also e-mail them to friends and family to get more hits.
Step11
Visit the messages boards on Epinions for more tips and help.
Step12
Be patient - it takes a few weeks to get your income. I believe it takes 6 weeks to get "10 for 10". Read through the FAQ's and Help Section for more info.
Step13
Good Luck and Happy Writing!

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to review items that have not been reviewed yet. I have found alot of my son's children's to not have any reviews
  • If you want to review a product that is not listed, suggest it. Visit the faq's for more info.
