How to Select a Dating Service How to Select a Dating Service

Rate: (0 Ratings)

Various dating services appeal to different groups, whether by age, gender, looks or residential areas, offering friendship or romance. Unfortunately, consumer complaints against dating services increased by a large margin in 2006 and 2007, with the Better Business Bureau estimating that the problem will get worse.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Watch out for testimonials from satisfied customers; they may not be real. Ask to speak with or contact actual customers about their experiences and to have them rate their satisfaction level.
Step2
Visuals are an advertising tool. Know that romantic language, images and music is used to convince potential customers that the dating service's sole purpose is to fill clients desires to meet others of the same or opposite sex, whether it is for friendship or dating.
Step3
Watch out for high pressure sales tactics like low cost membership specials that will end that day or a free profile or extended membership for joining.
Step4
Before signing find out what the cost of dissolving the membership will be for you. Hidden costs and other damaging information is often in small fine print.
Step5
Contact the Better Business Bureau to see if the dating service is legitimate, if there have been any complaints against them and what those complaints were.
