How to Do a Wing Chun Front Kick

Wing Chun kicks are traditionally below the waist and are found in the Chun Kiu and wooden dummy form. Depending on the lineage, a variation of the basic kick is striking with the heel.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Position the body directly forward and square with the feet vertical.

  2. Step 2

    Lift the practicing knee to the correct chamber height.

  3. Step 3

    Straighten the leg with the heel being the first point of contact.

  4. Step 4

    Re-chamber the kick and place the practicing foot on the ground.

Tips & Warnings
  • The most common target is an opponent’s knee, stopping the attack and allowing a counter. Practice with accuracy.
