If you've scrubbed and scrubbed but still can't get that urine smell out of the bathroom, chances are the urine has soaked through the floor. Before you rip up the floorboards give this a try!
If urine was able to soak through the floor, that means that you won't be able to reach the stench with a scrub brush, but you will be able to saturate it in other liquids that will also soak through the floor. Use Urine Gone if you want to simply counter the urine smell, but if you want to mask/cover/the smell, Pine Sol is an excellent tool to use.
Step2
Pour it on the floor! That's right. You'll have lots of standing fluid and you might be a little fearful at first, but if you have urine that has soaked into the floor, you're cleaner will soak in right after it. This is common in older homes where there is gaps between the ceramic of the toilet and the linoleum.
Step3
Shut the bathroom door to keep pets/children out and return an hour later. If you still have standing fluid this strategy will probably not work for you. If most of the fluid is gone, you are on your way to a cleaner, fresher smelling bathroom without the pesky odor of urine embarrassing you. Get a towel and soak up the remaining fluid.
Tips & Warnings
Be sure to keep kids and pets away from standing cleaner, make sure to shut the door and/or perform this when they are not present.
