This article is self explanatory. You will learn the basics of shaving; from your ankles to the top of your thighs. Any questions I will gladly answer. It actually may be too much information but better to be on the safe side. E-mail me with any questions. Thank you for reading my article. Jami

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Razor (any brand will do, you can use men's ( I do), or women's they come in a variety of blades from 2 to 4 and with strips, colors and other unnecessary bells and whistles. I would just get a two bl
  • Shaving Cream, Shaving Lotion or Shaving Gel (again too many to list pick your fav) I prefer gels they always work perfectly. As you use different types you will find what works for you, I will recomm
  • A tub or shower make sure they are clean
  • A clean towel for when you are done and all rinsed off also make sure the towels is clean.
  • Lotions – for general soft skin and basic needs then any top brands from Rite Aid, Eckerd’s, etc, for a glass like appearance go with a more expensive brand the best site is www.sephora.com or you can
  1. Step 1
    A clean shower
    A clean shower

    1. Take your bath or shower. Make sure you scrub your legs extra before you shave. Now you are ready to begin. I am going to suggest you take your shaving gel and apply starting at the ankle and going up to the knee, start with which ever leg you want. Now start at the ankle, and slowly pull the razor upward, take a few inches and rinse the razor keep doing this till you reach the knee, then stretch your leg out but not completely (you much leave a small amount of give) then in an upward direction slowly at all times with the knees shave in small slow motions then rinse, add more gel and shave from left to right because for some reason the hair on the knee grows in different directions.

  2. Step 2
    Shaving
    Shaving

    2. The hard part is over now above the knees gel up to the top of your thighs front and back make sure to again do the shaving and rinsing in few inch increments. The reason I don't and never have shaved from bottom to top without rinsing is that you get a smoother shave by doing it in short slow movements.

  3. Step 3
These have been covered in tanning lotion but can look as good with regular lotion

    3. Now with your legs shaved make sure you rinse completely. Get out of shower/bath and pat yourself dry, don't rub hard its not good for your skin and it removes moisture that will make your skin very dry.

  4. Step 4

    4. I wait until I have done a few other things before I put on my lotion ,generally about 3 to 4 minutes. Make sure when you apply the lotion you start where you feel comfortable just make sure you cover all areas, don't put too much you will be gooey and don't put an amount that's not enough because then you are left with dry skin. Before you do whatever it is you are going to do after lotion; job, shopping, bed etc always take some of your lotion about a quarter size amount for each leg and rub it down under your knee to the top of your foot, this gives you lotion where most people need it, it adds shimmer, and slims the leg. Now we can't all look like Ms. Denise Richards but we can aspire to have her legs and I bet some of you ladies do have her legs maybe even better.

  5. Step 5
    Stuff to use to begin

I wanted a picture of my products to use and they are perfect for beginners.

  6. Step 6
    First Aid

If I get razor burn or a cut this is what I use and it works

Tips & Warnings
  • Always start with a two bladed razor
  • Always shop around for the best price
  • If you want variety look at Target, Walmart, and Drugstores.
  • If you want name brand and in some cases better quality the check out www.sephora.com to purchase or find the store closest to you. Also they supply products you won't find anywhere else.
  • You are going to cut/nick yourself. We all have and it does not ' hurt it just looks bad so keep some Bactine to keep out infection and to numb it and keep out infection. You need neosporin and bandaids and you will be set. In fact most nicks/cuts are not even noticeable in an hour or less. But for the deeper ones the picture will show what you need.
  • you can also get razor rash and bumps and at any drugstore they will help you find a remedy for this and I haven't found any one that is different that another.
